AUSTIN ED FUND
INSPIRING THE FUTURE

ESTABLISHED IN 1993.

Austin Ed Fund was established as the Austin Public Education Foundation in 1993 to receive and disburse grants for the support of education and educational projects of the Austin Independent School District.

Since 2001, the Austin Ed Fund has facilitated more than $46 million in support of Austin ISD students and teachers. Through its grant program that started in 2015, Austin Ed Fund has awarded more than $2.1M to 400+ teacher-driven projects that support innovative classroom practices and educational opportunities for economically disadvantaged students. We’ve funded robotics projects, writing workshops, professional development, field trips, hands-on learning experiences, and more.

In addition to the grant programs, the Austin Ed Fund supports important district-wide initiatives like the Austin ISD Crisis Support Fund, social and emotional learning and encouraging the community to give generously to Austin ISD teachers, students, and programs. Because of our community, our teachers feel supported, our students are inspired and our public schools are stronger.

  • Austin ISD serves nearly 74,871 students on 125 campuses across a 230-square mile district.

  • More than 28% of Austin ISD students are emerging bilingual students. Nearly 52% are economically disadvantaged.

  • The district enjoys an impressive 92.3% graduation rate, and its composite SAT and ACT scores exceed state and national averages.
